Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology – Recruitment

The Division of Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology in the Department of Medicine at McMaster University, is now accepting applications for a 1- year Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship program. Prospective fellows must be certified or eligible for certification in Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Clinical pharmacologists are a core part of the Internal Medicine, Critical Care and Emergency Medicine teaching and research programs and clinical services at all hospital sites in Hamilton.  A novel Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology consultation service specializes in major polypharmacy, assessment for adverse drug events, expensive non-formulary medications, toxidromes, and medication access and adherence issues. In addition, the Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology is one of the top academic divisions in the Department of Medicine, based on education and research excellence.

The 1-year fellowship is ideal for trainees from all of the Internal Medicine specialties who wish to advance their training and expertise in clinical pharmacology, toxicology, poisoning, evidence-based therapeutics, prescribing skills, medication safety, drug policy, applied research methods, or educational research.

Applicants must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.  Certification in any of the Internal Medicine core programs or sub-specialties is required.
