The Division of Education & Innovation supports the development of innovative pedagogical practices across a variety of topics. Our faculty members are involved in clinical and entrepreneurship education, across programs such as Innovators in Scrubs, Biomedical Engineering, Faculty Development, Health Venture Program (etc.). These efforts often explore the use of online teaching, flipped classrooms, micro-credentials, personalized learning, simulations, games, and much more.
Information Box Group
Innovation Simulator (Sarrah Lal, Sean Park, Hartley Jafine)
Developing an educational toolkit to simulate interactions with stakeholders involved in the innovation development processes. This includes having effective conversations that support problem definition, solution development, implementation, and long-term value creation.
Online PBL (Sarrah Lal)
Exploring the potential of online PBL education for non-clinical areas. The primary focus will be to assess the effectiveness of PBL for teaching topics in health innovation and entrepreneurship. A secondary focus will be to increase the capacity for online PBL education across the university through the development of an educator-focused training program.
Adaptive Learning Platform (Sarrah Lal, Milica Vukmirovic)
Investigate the use of an adaptive web-based platform for health innovation and entrepreneurship education. This platform will connect learners at any training level with easily accessible educational content (i.e. video modules, text, workshops, online case studies) and enable ongoing assessment of their skill or knowledge acquisition.
